SRC-20 Protocol

The Bitcoin token standard that makes StampMap permanent, immutable, and truly decentralized.

What is the SRC-20 Protocol?

SRC-20 introduces a novel method for embedding data within Bitcoin transactions. Unlike traditional Ordinals, SRC-20 tokens — also known as Stamps — leverage the UTXO model. This distinctive approach ensures the permanence and immutability of data within the Bitcoin blockchain.

While Ordinals inscribe data in the witness portion of transactions (which can theoretically be pruned), Stamps are stored directly in the UTXO set — making them truly permanent and impossible to remove from the Bitcoin blockchain.

Key Benefits

⛓️

Permanence & Immutability

SRC-20 tokens are embedded directly into the UTXO set of the Bitcoin blockchain. This integration ensures the permanent and unchangeable nature of the data — once stamped, it's there forever.

🔒

Security & Reliability

The SRC-20 protocol enhances security by preventing the removal or pruning of Stamps from the blockchain. This inherent permanence makes SRC-20 tokens a more reliable choice for long-term storage of valuable digital assets.

⚖️

Legal & Regulatory Compliance

The unalterable nature of SRC-20 tokens makes them highly reliable for legal and regulatory compliance. Industries where enduring records are crucial can benefit from the tamper-proof and time-stamped nature of Stamps.

Efficiency & Scalability

SRC-20 tokens are designed to occupy minimal space on the blockchain, ensuring they have a negligible impact on the overall efficiency and scalability of the Bitcoin network.

Why SRC-20 matters for StampMap

Because $STMAP is a SRC-20 token, every pixel you claim on StampMap is backed by an asset that lives permanently on the Bitcoin blockchain. Your creative work, your brand, your mark — it cannot be erased, censored, or removed.

This is what makes StampMap fundamentally different from any other pixel art project: your presence on the map is as permanent as Bitcoin itself.

Growing Adoption

Exchanges have shown great interest in the SRC-20 protocol. Dozens of posts and articles are published every week in which the SRC-20 protocol is highlighted as the reference protocol for permanent data storage on Bitcoin, thanks to its storage directly on UTXOs. It is clear that in the near future, exchanges and blockchain infrastructures will progressively integrate the protocol into their solutions.

Built on the strongest foundation

Permanent. Immutable. On Bitcoin. That's StampMap.
